Our crickets are busy, busy, busy! They have been chirping all day and all night--it always feeling like we are outside with these guys. Quite relaxing really. Our students saw today that they were beginning to plant their eggs (again). Last time we tried to hatch the eggs we used a thick mud instead of a loose dirt. This time they were able to easily plant the eggs deeper into the dirt. I have a feeling this time we will have better luck with our cricket farm.
In the picture below you can actually see a female (top, left) burrowing their "tails" into the ground to plant their eggs! The 3 closest to it are also planting eggs! The one on the bottom right found a lovely worm to eat! COOOOL!
